General FAQs
Can I call from overseas?
Yes, you can access the services from abroad. However, please note that any call charges will depend on your individual network and the costs for using your mobile outside the UK (calls are free within the UK). If you're seeking a prescription, please be aware it can only be collected within the UK.
Can my family members use the RISE service?
Yes, your dependents are also eligible to use the services. However, please note that while the GP service is available to children, the counselling service is not offered to children.
What happens if my call isn’t answered?
While this is a rare occurrence, it is possible that exceptionally all call handlers are engaged. If this happens, we recommend calling back at a later time. If you require immediate assistance, please contact your HR representative or Campus Safety for support.
BHSF user testimonials
I first used the EAP as I’m a carer for a relative with vascular dementia and Alzheimer’s. I regularly visit them and was finding it hard to communicate with them as they no longer speak and are bed bound. So, I contacted the EAP to see what help they could offer. The next day I had a phone call from a company who offered me and my family support and sent me a lot of information on how to communicate with someone with my relative’s condition. I’ve also used it for myself when I was really unwell. I called my own GP and was told it was a 4 week wait, so I called the EAP as they have a GP service. I called at 09:30 and by 12:00 the GP called me back and by 12:15 I had a text prescription sent to my phone and by 2pm I had my medication. My daughter has also used this with the same excellent service. I would recommend using this service you have nothing to lose and everything to gain."
I was really impressed with the service I received from the BHSF Rise Legal service, The advisor was extremely professional, gave me lots of time to explain my situation and answered all my questions. I came away feeling positive, with several options to consider and I would definitely use this service again in the future."
