Surrey LGBTQIA+ Celebration: Saturday 10 October 2026

Join us for a vibrant and inclusive celebration of LGBTQIA+ communities, identities and diversity.

As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting LGBTQIA+ individuals, we are pleased to invite staff, students, family and friends to come together to celebrate LGBTQIA+ communities, identities, love and belonging.

This special event reflects our dedication to fostering equality, inclusion, and a sense of belonging for our staff, students, and the wider community.

Event overview

Join us between 12pm - 4pm on Saturday 10 October 2026 on PATS Field for this family-friendly event. This special celebration will bring our community together for an afternoon filled with entertainment, activities, information and opportunities to connect.

Taking place inside PATS Marquee, enjoy a fabulous performance from That Girl Drag, dance along with DJ Frazer, and get moving with an energetic dance class led by Homoparody Queer Collective. We’ll also be joined by the Surrey Rainbow Choir, bringing uplifting performances and plenty of community spirit.

Explore our Information Stalls to discover LGBTQIA+ support, organisations and resources, and get creative at our Craft Fair, featuring a range of activities and stalls to enjoy.

You will also receive a free lunch token to enjoy the food trucks on site!

"'University should be a place where every student and colleague can be themselves without hesitation. This event is a celebration of our LGBTQIA+ community and a reminder of the kind of university we want to be - one where difference is welcomed, people feel supported, and everyone has the chance to thrive."

Emma Rowsell, Chief Student Officer

That Girl - Drag Queen

That Girl is a stagey, campy, songstress with big numbers and even bigger hair. The crownless wonder of the London drag scene, she placed first runner-up in Tuckshop’s 'The Crown', first runner-up in Not Another Drag Competition Season 2 at the RVT, and placed “which one was she?” in Drag Idol 2023. She is the current reigning 'Pink News Drag Artist of the Year' following her highly publicised drag story times in south east London, and an award nominated theatre maker for her five-star reviewed solo show THAT GIRL VS THE WORLD.

Surrey Rainbow Choir

Surrey’s only LGBTQ+ dedicated choir, providing an inclusive and accessible space where people can get together and enjoy singing - judgement-free! We’re made up of almost fifty members of all ages, gender expressions, sexualities and musical ability.

Now for the first time in Surrey, LGBTQ+ people can feel free to belong and sing out in a safe space and all the while doing it to also help our own community by representing LGBTQ+ people performing across Surrey and raising money for good causes with the funds we raise at our concerts.

Homoparody

HOMOPARODY is a collective of LGBTQ+ humans who provide entertainment for public and private events, pride celebrations and festivals all over the UK and beyond. We recreate iconic music videos for charity, run weekly all-ability dance classes and love bringing our community together through dance, entertainment and events.
